Job Summary
Using AutoCAD and/or Inventor, this position is responsible for preparation of accurate design drawings used for production of fabricated aluminum modules for custom emergency response vehicles.

Essential Job Functions
• Ability to work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
• Competent in the use of AutoCAD and/or Inventor
• Capable of accurate design work with careful attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn general design practices associated with sheet metal fabrication and specific practices related to modular bodies for emergency vehicles
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Based upon marked-up drawings, sketches or bid specifications, prepare sales drawings, assembly drawings, electrical drawings, as-built drawings and parts drawings, using AutoCAD, and/or Inventor.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Completion of drafting/design program at an accredited school or college
Position Requirements: Demonstrated proficiency in the use of AutoCAD
Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge in 3D design
Required Experience: Experience using Autodesk Inventor is preferred. Mechanical or auto body experience is desired.
Other Information: All design work is currently performed using AutoCAD. However, future design work will be done using both AutoCAD and Inventor.

Braun Northwest is looking for  reliable individuals that have the mechanical experience or aptitude to work in our Final Assembly Department.

The Essential Functions of these positions include;

  • • Must be able to reach above head for varying periods of time throughout the day
    • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. as needed
    • Install sirens, horns, radios, winches after-market bumpers, and various customer requested accessories
    • Must have the ability to grasp small hand tools in order to complete work required
    • Must be able to work in a team setting, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Other duties include;

  • • Note any discrepancies on appropriate forms and verify they are corrected prior to delivery.
    • Perform exhaust modifications
    • Clean vehicles prior to delivery
    • Perform any minor assembly operations to include electrical wiring as needed
    • Touch up minor paint blemishes

  • the ability to use hand tools, lift or hold objects overhead in order to assemble and install module parts.
  • the ability to regularly stand, sit, and crawl through modules in order to complete tasks.
  • the ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform basic math skills

Knowledge of basic carpentry principles, basic principles of design and assembly techniques is preferred.

Title Welder/Fabricator

Job Information

Job Description 

These positions are responsible for laying out, welding, and building the metal frame and component parts of the module. These tasks must be completed accurately in order to be moved to the Paint Department in a timely manner.

Essential Functions 

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use and read a tape measure accurately and perform the math calculations to layout the project being fabricated.
  • Fit and weld metal components per drawing and specifications to required tolerances
  • Regularly lift, carry and otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and on occasion 75 lbs.
  • Regularly push and pull large sheets of metal in order to place them in proper position for cutting and welding.
  • Stand for long periods of time in order to complete the fabrication work.

Other Functions 

  • Inspect own work for completeness and acceptability to quality requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education: Basic Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Welding certification from an accredited welding program is desired.

Position Requirements: These positions require the use of proper welding masks with a protective lens shade of no less than eleven. Tools and a tool box are required.

 Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of welding and fabrication principles.

Required Experience: Prior welding experience desirable; MIG and aluminum

Use of Tools 

Ability to safely and competently operate some or all of the following equipment:

  • Drill Press
  • Table Saw
  • Chop Saw
  • Overhead Hoist
  • Grinder
  • Band Saw
  • Welders (MIG & TIG)
  • Shear
  • Sawzall
  • Plasma Cutting Equipment
  • Various Hand/Power Tools

Title Paint Prep
Job Information

Braun Northwest has two immediate openings in our Paint Prep Department. These positions are responsible for prepping emergency vehicle modules in order to be painted, and sent to Assembly.In order to be successful the candidate must:

have the ability to sit, stand, and crawl for long periods of time inside, on top, underneath and around modules
be able to move up to 20lbs of product or equipment in order to ensure that all parts of the module are prepped for paint.
be able to tolerate working around metal dust shavings that result from the sanding of modules.
be able to work in a team setting, and follow verbal and written instructions.
have the ability to safely and competently use the following tools and equipment;
DA Sanders, Grinders, Buffers/Polishers
Various hand held tools to include Saws, Screwdrivers, etc.

Education: Basic Reading, Writing, and Math, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

Positions Requirements: These positions require working in enclosed spaces, and on top of modules 10 feet off the ground. These positions work around and with paint solvents in a well ventilated area.

Experience: This is an entry level position and although experience in auto body work is desirable for work involving the prepping of vehicles for painting, it is not required.
We will train the person who is the right fit for the job.
