Title Maintenance Worker

Job Information

Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, these positions are responsible for the general maintenance and cleaning of all areas and equipment throughout the plant.

Essential Functions 

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, and on occasion crawl into tight areas in order to complete cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to move objects which could exceed 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance duties specific to each area’s needs
  • Ability to pull and push to complete cleaning, for example: sweeping, vacuuming and maneuvering of heavy floor cleaning machines.

Duties of Position 

  • Work areas in shop: Daily; empty all trash barrels and sweep floors, dust vacuum where needed. Weekly; clean stationary tools, check safety guards, empty dust collection bags, and clean around all pillars and walls. Check for damaged cord and hoses frequently.
  • Clean rest rooms daily: check and replace all paper products, clean sinks, urinals and toilets. Empty trash containers and mop floors. On as as needed basis replace urinal cakes, scrub floor areas, wipe down walls and stall dividers, and clean mirrors.
  • Public areas in shop: Daily; sweep and dust as needed, clean drinking fountains with disinfectant, empty wire recycling bins, clean and dust Mezzanine level. Weekly; clean floors with floor-machine; check and refill empty bottles and maintain supply in bulk containers from the assembly cleaning fluids.
  • Lunchroom: Daily; sweep floor, clean sink, replace paper products, and wipe down tables with disinfectant cleaner. Weekly; mop floor, clean refrigerator, and microwaves. Monthly; clean all floors with floor-machine.

Title Welder/Fabricator

Job Description 

These positions are responsible for laying out, welding, and building the metal frame and component parts of the module. These tasks must be completed accurately in order to be moved to the Paint Department in a timely manner.

Essential Functions 

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use and read a tape measure accurately and perform the math calculations to layout the project being fabricated.
  • Fit and weld metal components per drawing and specifications to required tolerances
  • Regularly lift, carry and otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and on occasion 75 lbs.
  • Regularly push and pull large sheets of metal in order to place them in proper position for cutting and welding.
  • Stand for long periods of time in order to complete the fabrication work.

Other Functions 

  • Inspect own work for completeness and acceptability to quality requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education: Basic Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Welding certification from an accredited welding program is desired.

Position Requirements: These positions require the use of proper welding masks with a protective lens shade of no less than eleven. Tools and a tool box are required.

 Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of welding and fabrication principles.

Required Experience: Prior welding experience desirable; MIG and aluminum

Use of Tools 

Ability to safely and competently operate some or all of the following equipment:

  • Drill Press
  • Table Saw
  • Chop Saw
  • Overhead Hoist
  • Grinder
  • Band Saw
  • Welders (MIG & TIG)

Braun Northwest has an immediate opening in our Paint Department. These positions are responsible for Painting Emergency Vehicle Modules in order to prepare them to move to the Assembly Dept.

Positions Functions include but are not limited to;

-The ability to move up to 20lbs of product or equipment in order to ensure that all parts of the module are painted

-The ability to tolerate working around metal dust shavings that result from the sanding of modules

-Cleaning, DA sanding, bodywork, masking, priming, and painting of module bodies

Position Requirements:

These positions require working in enclosed spaces, and on top of modules 10 feet off the ground.  These positions work around and with paint solvents in a well ventilated area.  Tools and tool box are required.
